Greetings everyone,
Embraer Executive Jets (EEJ) has delivered its first enhanced Phenom 300E to Dunham and Jones Texas law firm this past July in a ceremony at Embraer’s Global Customer Center in Melbourne, Florida. Almost two months later, Embraer announced the delivery of a second enhanced Phenom 300E, this time outfitted with its exclusive Bossa Nova interior, to Mr. Joe Howley, the cofounder of Patient AirLift Services (PALS).
This month, let us get to know the new and enhanced Phenom 300E some more…
By far, the upgraded Phenom 300E is the fastest and longest-ranged single pilot business light jet in the world. It builds on the success of its predecessor, the Phenom 300, the world’s best-selling light jet for 8 years running, with more than 400 aircrafts delivered to customers in roughly 40 countries around the world since the year 2013. The upgraded Phenom 300E costs USD 9.45 million and may reach up to USD 10 million. Same class competitors to the Phenom 300E are Textron’s Cessna Citation CJ3+, Bombardier’s Learjet 70, and Switzerland’s Pilatus PC-24. We will discuss the specs of these jets in future articles.
The upgraded Phenom 300E is a light business jet. However, its external and internal design make it look and feel larger than it actually is…
The Phenom 300E is 15.6 m long, 5.1 cm tall, with a wingspan of 15.9 m. It has 2.38 m3 of cargo room, with a cargo compartment below the left engine, and another cargo compartment in the nose of the aircraft. The aircraft can seat 8 to 11 passengers comfortably.
The upgraded Phenom 300E’s exclusive Oval Lite® cabin with multiple possible configurations offers a quiet and comfortable environment for work and relaxation…
The cabin is pressurized to the equivalent of 2012 m, the lowest cabin altitude in its class, creating an ideal environment for work and leisure. In terms of cabin altitude, the lower the better. Notably, most commercial airlines are pressurized to the equivalent of 2438 m. New carbon composite jets are pressurized to the equivalent of 1829 m.
Space, space, and more space…
The Phenom 300E’s exclusive Oval Lite® cabin offers the most leg and head space of any light jet. Oversized windows allow abundant natural light inflow into the cabin. The cabin’s stowable tables create ample space for dining and working. The cabin’s baggage capacity is quite generous as well, allowing passengers to take everything they need aboard this light jet.
According to Embraer, the intelligently designed Phenom 300E’s cabin displays seamless integration of “style, technology, quality and purposeful functionality”…
The cabin’s ergonomic interior, displaying meticulous attention to detail, delivers both class and usability at the same time.
If you select the interior configuration with the two-person divan and belted lavatory, the aircraft capacity can easily increase to 11 persons. The two-person divan is located upfront, with multi-tone diamond stitched upholstery, and features a fold-down armrest with a slot for propping up smart devices.
The fully articulated custom stitched seats of the Phenom 300E feature enhanced headrests, retractable arm rests and adjustable thigh bolsters, for utmost passenger comfort.
The cabin also features nice® HD cabin management and inflight entertainment system by Lufthansa Technik, which offers portable device integration and wireless audio/ video streaming. The cabin also features an industry exclusive upper technology panel, complete with touch control, downwash lighting, flush gaspers and an optional drop down monitor.
A small galley is located in the front of the cabin, with a small cupboard and a drink cooler. Behind a set of sliding doors at the back of the cabin, a lavatory complete with a mirror and sink is located.
The performance of the upgraded Phenom 300E is outstanding; it is the fastest and longest ranged single-pilot light jet, with speed up to 0.8 Mach…
This robust jet with excellent dispatch reliability operates at outstandingly low costs and is relatively simple to maintain. According to Embraer, High-tech SmartProbesTM and fully integrated Central Maintenance Computer significantly reduce downtime. Airline-like single-pilot refueling and externally serviced lavatory offer easy operation and low turnaround times. Moreover, Embraer’s global support network with trained technicians guarantee best quality of service.
Upgraded PW535E1 engines (Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535-E turbofan engines) provide propulsion for this jet, with engine thrust increased to 15’471 N. The engines are powerful, yet efficient, offering a reduced noise footprint, as well as fewer emissions with better fuel burn.
The jet’s maximum cruising altitude is 13’716 m. The maximum cruising speed on the other hand is an impressive 0.8 Mach. When flying at its long-range cruise speed, the jet’s maximum range is 2’010 nm or 3’723 km with 5 occupants and NBAA IFR fuel reserves. The jet can take off in 978 m at maximum takeoff weight, with landing distance of 674 m. The maximum take-off weight, on the other hand is 1’196 kg.
The upgraded Phenom 300E cockpit is equipped with state-of-the-art Prodigy Flight Deck running Garmin 3000 avionics, developed for single-pilot operations…
The next-generation touch controlled flight deck exhibits the perfect marriage of ergonomics and technology of any light jet. It is equipped with a trio of interchangeable 14.1-inch display screens, a synthetic vision augmented reality system, graphical flight planning, reactive wind shear alerting and weather radar with vertical scan, SurfaceWatchTM, vertical navigation, in addition to ground clutter suppression and turbulence detection to provide enhanced situational awareness. Moreover, the upgraded Phenom 300E is the first and only business aircraft to have Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS), with Embaer being the only original equipment manufacturer to develop and certify such technology. ROAAS provides a warning advisory if the runway approach is too fast, or too steep.
