On Monday, October 4, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. unveiled two all-new business jets recently added to its family ultramodern high-tech aircraft in Savannah, Georgia: The G800 and the G400.
The company unveiled the two new aircraft before a live audience at its Savannah Headquarters. Gulfstream simultaneously broadcasted the event via its website and social media platforms Facebook and YouTube. The global virtual broadcast featured a virtual tour of the G400 and a live reveal of the very first G800.
The Gulfstream G800…
The G800 is a long-range aircraft that flies further than any aircraft ever produced by Gulfstream. At Mach 0.85, the G800 has an impressive range of 8’000 nm, equivalent to 14’816 km. At a top speed of Mach 0.9, the G800 has a range of 7’000 nm, equivalent to 12’964 km. The G800 also features enhanced fuel efficiency, and ultimately more city-pair capabilities.
Similar to the G700, the G800 is powered by high thrust Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines. The G800 also features the same Gulfstream-designed wing and winglet introduced on the G700.
The G800’s spacious cabin seats up to 19 passengers, and offers up to four living areas, or three with a crew compartment. The G800’s cabin features 16 panoramic oval windows and offers passengers the Signature Gulfstream Cabin Experience.
The Gulfstream G400…
Gulfstream’s G400 is a large-cabin aircraft, the newest entrant to the “large-cabin” class in more than in a decade.
At its long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85, the G400 has a range of 4’200 nm, equivalent to 7’778 km.
The G400 features Gulfstream’s aerodynamic clean-wing design and is powered by advanced Pratt & Whitney PW812GA engines. The aforementioned reduce fuel consumption, emissions, and noise.
The G400 seats from 9 up to 12 passengers, and offers three floorplans. Its spacious cabin features 10 panoramic oval windows and offers the signature Gulfstream Cabin Experience as well.
Advanced Avionics…
The G800 and G400 are both equipped with the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck. The Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck features electronically linked active control sidesticks and 10 touch-screen displays. The business jets are also equipped with the company’s award-winning Predictive Landing Performance System (PLPS).
In addition, the dual head-up displays on the G800 feature Gulfstream’s new and exclusive Combined Vision System (CVS). CVS increases pilot situational awareness through merging images produced by the Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) and Synthetic Vision System (SVS) into one single image.
Health and Safety Enhancements…
Additional health and safety enhancements featured on the new business jets include 100% fresh, never recirculated, and never re-filtered air. The G400 and G800 each feature a plasma-ionizing clean air system to neutralize 99.9% of airborne bacteria, spores, and odors. The new business jets also offer the lowest cabin altitude in their respective classes, further contributing to passenger comfort.
Gulfstream expects to begin customer deliveries of the G800 in 2023, and the G400 in 2025.
